What to Prepare Before a First Consultation

A short checklist that makes the first meeting with our design team more useful for both sides.

Most clients arrive with a rough idea of what they want and a stack of reference photos. That is a good start, but the conversation becomes far more productive when you also bring a few practical details: the exact dimensions of the room, the location of plumbing and electrical points, and the measurements of any appliances that will sit inside the cabinetry. If you are renovating, a simple floor plan with door and window positions helps us understand where natural light falls and how the space actually flows.

Think about how you use the kitchen on a daily basis. Which cabinets do you reach for most often? Where do you store heavy pots, small appliances, or dry goods? These habits shape the internal layout more than any style preference. A pull-out rack near the stove, for example, makes more sense than a deep shelf if you cook frequently and need quick access to oils and spices. Similarly, a tall pantry unit works better for a household that buys in bulk, while a compact drawer stack suits someone who prefers visible order.

It also helps to set a realistic budget range before the meeting. We are not asking for a fixed number, but a bracket gives us a clear direction when recommending materials and hardware. Plywood with soft-close hinges and edge banding costs differently than MDF with standard fittings, and knowing your comfort zone lets us propose options that fit without overbuilding. If you are unsure about the range, say so openly. We can walk you through typical costs for your room size and suggest where to invest and where to save.

Finally, bring a list of questions. Ask about lead times, installation schedules, and what happens if a measurement changes after production starts. Ask about finish samples and how they behave under daily use. The consultation is your chance to test our process before committing, so treat it as a working session rather than a sales pitch. The more specific you are, the more useful the layout we prepare for you.

If you want to see how we turn these details into a production-ready plan, take a look at our solutions page or book a slot through the contact form.
