XCA Cabinetry started in 2016 with a single CNC router, a hand edge bander, and a clear idea: kitchen storage should be planned around how people actually cook, reach, and store. The studio grew one project at a time, and the milestones below mark the decisions that shaped how we work today.
The first machine was a small 3-axis router bought second-hand. We used it to cut a single kitchen for a two-bedroom apartment in Marathahalli. The client wanted pull-out shelves for every base cabinet, which pushed us to learn nested-based cutting early. That first install taught us more about hinge placement and edge banding than any manual ever did.
After a few projects with MDF, we switched our standard carcass material to 18mm plywood. The change came from a callback where a sink cabinet swelled after a minor leak. Since then, every cabinet box we build uses moisture-resistant plywood, and MDF is reserved for painted doors and decorative panels where it performs best.
We brought edge banding in-house and started testing hinges, runners, and lift systems on our own sample cabinets before offering them to clients. This was the year we standardized soft-close hardware across all drawers and doors. It also marked the beginning of our small hardware library, where clients can open, close, and compare mechanisms before choosing.
Every project now starts with a 3D layout session, not just a sketch. We model the cabinet dimensions, appliance clearances, and drawer depths before any material is ordered. This step reduced on-site adjustments noticeably and gave clients a clear view of their storage before fabrication began. The consultation is free and takes about an hour.
We moved to a larger workshop to handle light commercial projects, including reception counters and office storage walls. The space allowed us to add a second CNC router and a dedicated assembly area. While residential kitchens remain the core of our work, the commercial jobs pushed us to refine our documentation and delivery schedules.

From first sketch to final hinge adjustment
Every job follows the same measured sequence: layout planning, material selection, CNC cutting, edge banding, assembly, and on-site fitting. The timeline below shows what happens at each stage and what you can expect from us along the way.
We measure the space, note plumbing and electrical points, and discuss how you actually use the kitchen or wardrobe. A 3D layout is drawn up with cabinet depths, door swings, and clearance for pull-out organizers. You get a clear plan before any material is ordered.
Plywood, MDF, or solid wood is chosen based on moisture exposure and finish preference. We prepare a detailed cutting list, accounting for blade kerf and edge banding thickness, so every sheet is used without waste. Hardware like soft-close hinges and drawer slides is specified at this stage.
Panels are cut on the CNC router with precision to the millimeter. Dadoes, dowel holes, and hinge bores are machined in the same pass. Edges are banded with matching PVC or ABS, and all visible surfaces are sanded before assembly.
Carcasses are assembled with cam locks and dowels, then squared and checked for twist. Doors and drawers are hung, soft-close mechanisms are adjusted, and pull-out racks are tested for smooth travel. Each unit is inspected before it leaves the workshop.
Units are delivered and installed in sequence. We level the carcasses, fix them to the wall, and align all doors and drawer fronts. Gaps are checked, handles are fitted, and you walk through every cabinet with us to confirm the storage works the way you planned.
We clean the installation, remove protective film, and leave you with care instructions for the finish and hardware. A final walkthrough covers how to adjust hinges if needed and what to avoid when cleaning. Your project file stays with us for future reference.
